The GPS and GPS/GLONASS clock modules are the central synchronisation elements in an IMS system. The internal clock carries a highly stable oscillator that is utilised to generate the base synchronisation signals which are distributed to all I/O module slots via the backplane.
The IMS network modules are key for the provision of NTP and PTP outputs, as well as being essential for remote configuration of the Meinberg IMS units.
Additional network and PTP generator cards are also available with fibre optic capability for secure transfer of information across your network.
The IMS input modules allow the unit to synchronise to multiple reference sources that can provide a back up to GPS or PTP synchronisation, or allow the unit to be synchronised independently.
The range of synchronisation sources include: PPS, 10MHz, Time Code (AM+DCLS) as well as telecom inputs.
All I/O slots (MRI, ESI and I/O) support any combination of output modules. The selection of already available IMS output modules provides a wide selection of output signals, and will be expanded in the future to add more signals and physical interfaces as needed or requested.
