IMS-MRI : IRIG, 1PPS, 10MHz Input Card

If an application requires to use external synchronisation sources instead of radio/GNSS signals, an MRI card enables the installed clock module to synchronise to 1PPS, 10MHz, DCLS and AM time codes (IRIG B, AFNOR, IEEE1344 or C37.118).

Each MRI card is dedicated to one clock module, if a redundant solution requires external synchronization inputs for both clock modules, two MRI cards must be installed. The MRI card is available with 4x BNC connectors.

Optionally, the MRI input card is also available with fibre optical inputs.

IMS-ESI : 2.048MHz, 2.048MBit/s, 1PPS and Variable Frequency Input Card

ESI – Extended Reference Input.

The ESI (External Synchronization Input) card can add additional synchronization sources to an IMS system. It accepts E1 and T1 sources, both as a Bitstream (2.048MBit/s/1.544Mbit/s, supporting SSM/BOC) or Frequency (2.048MHz/1.544MHz).

It also handles a configurable frequency (1 kHz – 10 MHz) and a 1PPS pulse synchronization source, if required. The ESI card is, as with the MRI card, dedicated to one specific clock module (depending on the slot it is installed in) and can be installed in both ESI as well as MRI slots.

High Precision Synchronization.

The new generation of the Meinberg time stamping unit provides a future-proof platform for your IEEE 1588 / SyncE / Carrier Grade NTP infrastructure. The high-performance dual-core processor, the 1-step master clock and the 1GE interface with SFP slot supports a very large number of PTP clients.

The HPS offers the ability to support up to 2048 PTP-Clients in Unicast (at 128 Sync/Delay Requests per second), as well as more than 250,000 Delay Requests per second in Multicast or Hybrid mode or more than 400,000 NTP requests per second due to a powerful FPGA-based Packet Generator engine.
