APC Lighting installs 1,000,000th LED luminaire and delivers ultra low failure rates of just 0.2%
This March, APC Lighting has celebrated the installation of its 1 millionth LED luminaire since the company’s acquisition in 2013.
The milestone luminaire, which was installed in a retail centre in Paisley in Scotland, is part of more than 550 installation projects that APC lighting has undertaken within the last six years.
Whilst reaching the one millionth luminaire mark is impressive, equally as remarkable is the exceptionally low failure rates of the luminaires that have been installed over the years. With an industry average of 3% failures, APC has achieved an outstanding failure rate of just 0.2%, equating to just 2000 lamps out of the 1,000,000 installed.
Says John Hatt, Contracts Director for APC Lighting:
“We pride ourselves on the quality and reliability of our products and the expertise of our lighting installation teams. This achievement comes from working in partnership with our UK and European manufacturers, working in close alignment to control quality and production.”
The low failure rate has given APC Lighting the confidence to extend its warranty period to 7 years, compared to typical manufacturer warranties of 3-5 years. APC’s focus on delivering excellence extends beyond installation with its provision of on-site technical support throughout the warranty period. Once a warranty claim is made, the product is accessed by an engineer and if faulty it is replaced and returned to the workshop for investigation and evaluation. APC then works closely with the product manufacturer to review and improve the quality for future products.
APC Lighting prides itself on its health and safety credentials and has an impeccable health and safety record. The company holds a variety of industry-recognised health and safety and quality accreditations including SafeContractor, CHAS, Construction Line Approved contractor, ISO14001:2004 and ISO9001:2008 accredited.
