PTP in IP Broadcast Workshop
This January, APC Time will be running an evening workshop for broadcasters and systems integrators– sharing our technical expertise in transitioning to Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and IP workflows.
As more broadcasters are looking at upgrading to an all-IP studio workflow, traditional synchronisation techniques like black burst and tri-level sync will have to be replaced with a packet-based method. This free evening workshop will bring together specialist knowledge from: APC Time, Meinberg and Oregano Systems to help you get to grips with implementing PTP time synchronisation into your network infrastructure.
Taking place at Jisgaw 24/Root 6’s offices in Soho, the evening will be mixture of presentations and live demonstrations.
- Mark Broadhead from APC Time, in collaboration with Rupert Watson from Root6, will present an overview of the challenges and opportunities of PTP timing in an IP broadcast network environment.
- Followed by Daniel Boldt, Head of Software from Meinberg and Nikolaus Keroe, General Manager of Oregano Systems who will be sharing real-world applications that demonstrate the performance of PTP under varying network conditions and help you will also understand the pitfalls and considerations in order to get PTP right.
