The AIM-75H and MIT-W102, the next generation in Advantech's medical grade tablets

The newest additions to Advantech's medical-grade tablets for reliable mobile computing, available from APC.

Advantech, a leading provider of certified medical computing systems and services, is pleased to announce its AIM-75H and MIT-W102 medical tablets. As next-generation models of the popular AIM-55 and MIT-W101 tablets, AIM-75H and MIT-W102 are specifically designed for healthcare and medical equipment builder (MEB) applications.

AIM-75H: an 8" Medical Grade Tablet with  Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and Android 10 operating system with Google Mobile Services (GMS) certification, to access over 1 million Google applications.

Meanwhile, MIT-W102 is a 10” tablet powered by Intel Pentium N4200 processor with Windows 10 IoT LTSC as the default operating system. Both tablets feature a scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 touchscreen with antimicrobial coating, versatile I/O, and advanced communication technology (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac WLAN, Bluetooth, NFC) to support a wide range of usage scenarios.

With their rugged design, which includes IP65-rated ingress protection, 4-ft. drop tolerance (up to 6-ft. with rugged cover), and certification for UL/IEC 60601-1/EN 1789 medical safety standards, AIM-75H and MIT-W102 offer healthcare providers certified mobile computing solutions that are reliable, ergonomic, and scalable and can be deployed for diverse medical applications.

AIM-75H

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor
  • Android 10 operating system certified for GMS
  • 8” LCD with 400-nit brightness and 1920 x 1200 resolution
  • Battery supports up to 12 hrs operation
  • UL/IEC 60601-1 and EN 1789 certification

MIT-W102

  • Intel Pentium N4200 processor
  • Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC operating system
  • 10” LCD with 500-nit brightness and 1920 x 1200 resolution
  • UL/IEC 60601-1 certification
  • Trusted Platform Module 2.0 for hardware-based security

Android 10 with GMS Offers Superior Usage Experience

The Android 10 operating system comes equipped with numerous application-ready APIs that reduce application development time. To achieve GMS certification, the AIM-75H tablet passed 2 million test items to provide the optimal out-of-the-box usage experience and assured compatibility with Google’s proprietary software applications, such as its Chrome browser, YouTube, and even the Google Play Store. This ensures users can easily install/uninstall, manage, and update apps. Moreover, Google’s Chrome for Android browser features an option called Lite Mode that routes webpages through Google servers to compress the data. For users, this can reduce data usage by up to 50% and thereby accelerate browsing.

Seamless Connectivity Enables Real-Time Communication

To facilitate high-speed data transmissions, real-time communication and GPS tracking, the AIM-75H and MIT-W102 tablets feature built-in 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac WLAN, Bluetooth, and NFC (13.56 Hz) communication technology and support multiple location positioning systems, including GPS, Glonass, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, and SBAS. Moreover, the inclusion of 802.11 k/v/r support ensures fast Wi-Fi network roaming to facilitate reliable real-time communication with back-end control systems.

Application-Oriented Peripherals for Scalable Expansion

Both the AIM-75H and MIT-W102 tablets can be equipped with a wide range of optional peripherals that expand the system functions to support specific usage needs. For AIM-75H, these peripherals include a 1D/2D barcode scanner, smart card reader, magnetic stripe reader, LAN+COM module, UHF RFID module, vehicle dock, VESA dock, and charging bay. For MIT-W102, the peripherals include a desktop docking station, VESA dock, and 3-in-1 kickstand. Moreover, these tablets can also be integrated with existing medical devices to facilitate data interoperability and convenient operations management.

Medical-Grade Certification with Enhanced Security

Compliant with UL/IEC 60601-1 and EN 1789 standards for medical safety, AIM-75H and MIT-W102 can be deployed in diverse healthcare environments to support various emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care applications. Furthermore, to ensure enhanced data security for sensitive medical data, both tablets are compatible with the Imprivata appliance-based user authentication and access management solution. Imprivata supports single sign-on identity verification, which not only streamlines the login process, saving medical staff considerable time, but also improves the security of shared-use devices to ensure 24/7 healthcare delivery.
