IMS-HPS : PTP / SyncE / Hardware NTP Interface with Dual Core CPU

High Precision Synchronization.

The new generation of the Meinberg time stamping unit provides a future-proof platform for your IEEE 1588 / SyncE / Carrier Grade NTP infrastructure. The high-performance dual-core processor, the 1-step master clock and the 1GE interface with SFP slot supports a very large number of PTP clients.

The HPS offers the ability to support up to 2048 PTP-Clients in Unicast (at 128 Sync/Delay Requests per second), as well as more than 250,000 Delay Requests per second in Multicast or Hybrid mode or more than 400,000 NTP requests per second due to a powerful FPGA-based Packet Generator engine.

IMS-LIU : Line Interface Unit

Generation of reference clocks for synchronization tasks.

The module LIU (Line Interface Unit) generates different reference clock pulses which are derived from the GNSS-locked master oscillator of a preconnected satellite receiver. The output signals are available with high accuracy and stability therefore.

IMS-SCG : Studio Clock Generator

This module generates various audio frequencies for studio applications, is available for the IMS series and is also available in a separate iU multipac chassis.

Option: SCG-B Studio Clock Generator Balanced

The SCG-B is an additional card for generating “Digital Audio Reference Signals” for studio applications. The 25pin D-Sub female connector provides four DARS outputs, which can be configured via the web interface.

IMS-VSG : Video-Sync Generator

The VSG is used as a video signal reference for studio equipment and provides the generated signals at four BNC outputs. These are Bi-Level Sync (Black Burst) / Tri-Level-Sync, Longitudinal Time and Control Code (LTC), Digital Audio Out (DARS) and Word Clock.

The VSG181 is synchronised by an external 10 MHz signal, 1PPS and a time telegram, which provides the connected reference receiver. These signals significantly determine the accuracy of the output signals. The generated video signals, in different formats, have a phase reference to the 1PPS.

In order to be able to provide high-precision output signals during the switchover of the RSC (IMS systems with redundant receivers), the VSG has its own oscillator

IMS-LNO : 10MHz sine low phase noise output module

The IMS-LNO is a 10MHz generator card, which provides sine signals with low phase noise to 4 external outputs. The card has a microprocessor system, which monitors the output signals and generates status signals for the upper-level management system accordingly.
